Good Puzzle

One pair of diagonally opposite boxes of a chess board is removed. Assuming the size of a box as 1*1 (width * height),with how many paper pieces of size (2*1), you can cover the entire board ? No overlapping of paper pieces are permitted.

Answers are expected as comments.

  1. If overlapping of paper pieces are possible its doable.

  2. Its correct. Question edited accordingly. Thanks

  3. Huh! Being terse often has its benefits. But you overdid it this time.
"...how many pieces of size..." pieces of what?
And you failed to mention that these 'pieces' shouldn't overlap and that no part of these pieces should stick out.
